Tips On Shopping For The Perfect Dress
Wedding dress shopping will be one of many memorable moments in the steps of planning your dream wedding. Many brides begin the search for the perfect wedding dress prior to their engagement or soon after. Finding the perfect wedding dress, saying “yes”, and picturing the day you walk down the aisle is a very big deal! At first you might think its just “a white dress, “‘I’ll only wear it once, but it is a symbol of a precious and life-changing moment.
My wedding dress experience went very smoothly! We had been engaged for almost a year and I was definitely not in a rush to find the dress but rather choosing the perfect time to! I followed my heart and told myself that I would chose the dress that made me feel the most beautiful…and all of the others opinions really didn’t matter. The dress I said “yes” to, has a little bit of everything, which is why I absolutely loved it! It was also the 3rd wedding dress that I tried on…( my heart knew it was the one, but I did go to my second appointment after just to be sure) 🙂
Here are a few steps that helped me in choosing my wedding dress. I hope these tips help you too!
1. To help narrow down your search…have an idea about the color and fabric! Do you love satin, lace, or a mixture of both? Straps or no straps? Or how about the color? Ivory, light or dark, champagne or white?
3.Do not bring an entourage! It’s exciting to shop for your wedding dress but you also do not want to hear 10 opinions about how YOU look in your dress. I suggest only inviting 2-3 people such as your mother, grandmother, sister, best friend, and/or future mother-law.
4.Know your budget! It only takes a few minutes to like a dress but know your price range and what you are most comfortable with.
5. Accessorize! Let your wedding dress consultant accessorize with a veil, hair piece, jewelry, and shoes if possible! Sometimes you need to see the full effect to help make your decision!
6. Stay calm, have fun, smile, laugh, take deep breaths and let the experience soak in! You will find the perfect wedding dress for you and just wait until your future spouse sees you in it 🙂
