How Moms Can Look Their Best on Their Baby’s Wedding Day

I don’t know how many women I have spoken with over the years who have told me they need to look great and feel great for their son’s or daughter’s upcoming wedding and don’t know where to start. As I was researching this topic, I couldn’t find ANY information on this focus. There were many sites for bridal fitness but nothing for the mom’s! You would think there would be more information out there to help these women. Never fear! I’m giving you several simple success secrets so you can be confident on the day you send your daughter or son off to be wed.

Clean Up Your Nutrition
Begin by drinking only 0-calorie drinks like water, sparkling water, or black or green tea. Calorie-laden drinks do not fill you up like food, but add unnecessary and usually carbohydrate-dense calories to your daily intake. Strive to eat protein, produce, and healthy fats found in healthy oils such as coconut oil and olive oil. Always eat protein such as cold water fish, chicken, turkey, eggs, and lean or grass fed beef when eating a carbohydrate like fruits and vegetables. Try to limit processed foods (like those 100 calorie bags of anything).

Clean Out Your Pantry
I have a rule that I tell my clients often, “If it is in the house it will get consumed.” If you have white bread, cookies, cakes, candy, wine, liquor etc… it will be consumed at some point. Why have it there as a distraction? No one NEEDS to eat or drink this stuff, so why keep it around? These items will only slow the process of looking your best for the wedding.
Get Moving
Walk outside 3-4 times per week. Add total body strength workouts 2-3 times per week. The total body strength workouts need to include upper and lower body pressing and pulling exercises with resistance, as well as core strengthening exercises. The more muscles you work, the more calories you burn. You don’t need to spend several hours in the gym to look great in your dress on the big day. Stick to 30-45 minute total body strength workouts, 2-3 times per week. You will look and feel better!
Sleep
Sleep may be the most often overlooked strategy to look and feel great. As you know weddings can be exceptionally stressful. What do a lot of men and women do when they get stressed? They eat and drink to cope with the stress? Sleep provides the body time to reset, to organize memories and to repair itself. Without the right amount of quality sleep you will put yourself in a constant state of stress. No amount of alcohol will help relax you as much as a good 7-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep in a cold dark room. It is also a good idea to create a bedtime ritual that you can follow each night that will ensure a good nights sleep.

I hope you can implement some, if not all of these strategies into your daily lives.
