Aisle Style: Hair

Hair comes the bride, all dressed in white! Excuse my little joke, but it gives an awesome introduction to this week’s “Aisle Style” topic don’t you think? There are thousands of different ways to do your hair on this momentous occasion and in my opinion your hairdo should be the crown upon your head. Yes your dress is glamorous, your makeup is divine, but your hair should really steal the show; it’s the topper on the cake so to speak!

Your hair frames your face along with the veil, which we’ll consider part of the hairstyle just to kill two birds with one stone. There are several different veil styles such as a birdcage veil, cathedral or chapel veils, and even styles dependent on length from shoulder to the floor! The amount of tiers you’d like comes into play as well when choosing your perfect veil.

The question of up, down, or to the side hairstyles can be tricky as well; you don’t want your head to get too crowded now do you? You can opt for hair extensions if you’d like to have a longer mane that’s easier to manage or even forgo the veil and have just a pretty hair accessory instead, like a flower or tiara. As of late, the most popular hairstyle to wear down the aisle has been labeled as “laid back”; messy braided updos, loose curls, and soft buns are gracing the top fashion magazine covers left and right. Personally, I think the messy braided updos are absolutely gorgeous, but I’m a different kind of girl. In those styles one could pair the carefully concocted mess with a flower to offset the less-than-traditional hairdo, giving it a more tame and elegant appearance.

Whichever style you choose for your wedding day, make sure it concurs with your personality and theme. Always stay true to yourself and your own unique style.
