How we met:
We are both from Corpus Christi and met through mutual friends in high school. We kept in touch throughout college, but didn’t start dating until we reconnected when we both moved to Dallas after college.
The proposal:
Chandler proposed at White Rock Lake on a walk with our dog Sadie. He started suggesting walks at White Rock a few months prior so there would be no suspicion on the day. It also was Sadie’s birthday, perfect excuse for a walk at the lake. We went on a long walk, which ended at a bench overlooking the lake, and the perfect proposal. We then celebrated with our friends and family that evening.
Favorite detail:
Bride: Being able to have the wedding in Port Aransas, a place that is so special to us.
Groom: Having our dog Sadie as part of the ceremony. She walked in behind the wedding party and sat in the front row watching us get married. We are still so surprised by how well-behaved she was.
Favorite moment:
Bride: Looking out to the ceremony to see all our family and close friends.
Groom: Seeing my bride walk down the aisle.
Biggest challenge:
Bride: The Port Aransas weather can be hit or miss. We got so lucky with the weather, but the weeks leading up to the event were stressful!
Groom: The guest list—we had a tight space and big extended families, but in the end it all worked out!
Funniest moment:
Bride: When Father James asked us to hold hands, our dog started whining—she hates when we hold hands without her—she was getting fomo!
Groom: When our dog whined mid-ceremony, but nothing a few belly rubs couldn’t fix!
If you could do one thing over:
Bride: Have another piece of cake!
Groom: Remind myself to be present.
Advice for couples:
Bride: Enjoy every minute of it—it goes by so fast!
Groom: Don’t drag out wedding planning—10 months was the perfect amount of time!
Why you got married:
Bride: Marriage means having a partner to go through life with, and I am so happy to have found that in Chandler.
Groom: Sarah is the light of my life and I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
How to make your spouse happy:
Bride: Uninterrupted NFL red zone Sunday!
Groom: A nice dinner at one of our favorite spots in Dallas.
What you look forward to most:
Bride: Doing life with Chandler—he makes everything more fun.
