Mother of the Bride Style Tips

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for ever since your child was born, their wedding day. Your daughter or son will be dressed to the nines but what about you? Even though it is their day, you deserve to look extra special! A lot of mother of the bride and grooms are so preoccupied with planning the wedding that they forget about themselves and try to look for a dress at the last minute.

But special attention needs to be taken when picking out your look for your children’s wedding day. After all, you’re going to be in all the photos too!

We came up with some great style tips to make sure you are looking dazzling on the big day.

  1. All About the A-line

Try finding a dress with an A-line silhouette because this is the most universally flattering dress type. An A-line silhouette nips in the smallest part of the body and flares out for a beautiful shape. This silhouette is perfect if you’re worried about looking frumpy. You’re guaranteed to have a gorgeous figure in this type of dress.

  1. Picking the right color

If you’re stumped on a color then try neutral muted colors. They are a classic choice and will go well with any color scheme. Try grey, champagne, gold or silver. Remember that white is off limits; you want your daughter or future daughter in law to steal the show. If muted colors aren’t your thing we’d recommend a beautiful jewel tone like emerald green or amethyst purple.

  1. Be comfortable

Make sure you absolutely love your dress. Don’t try and go with something that the Bride wants. After all, you deserve to feel comfortable. This is a big day for you too so choose the dress that fits your personality and body type. For example, if you don’t feel comfortable in sleeveless dresses then find one with sleeves. Everyone radiates more confidence when they are comfortable in their outfit!
